Francisco Rizquez also known as @fpluss1 is a photographer who was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, the second most dangerous city in the world. And yet, he makes the best out of his surroundings by delving into a number of projects to showcase his work, and make a positive impact on the world around him.

Francisco has worked as a journalist, covering the Venezuelans social-political conflicts between 2017-2019. Furthermore, he went out to the slums of Venezuela and interacted with the children there. He was so touched by what he witnessed, he put together a compilation of photos he took, and titled his photo-Book “Nuestras Caras,” meaning “Our Faces.”
Moreover, he takes pictures from the highest places he can find, scrambling, and balancing on top of rooftops, antennas, flimsy wires and mountains in all types of extreme weather.

Francisco lives for the moment where his heart pounds in the face of danger, but also makes him feel present and alive. Such moments have become his main motivation, to get out of his comfort zone and embrace his fears. He does this by pursuing what he loves to do, which is shooting on his camera.
​
Francisco’s photographic work is illuminating and uplifting, with an edge of excitement and danger all wrapped up into each image. To achieve his vision from a distance, he shows his perspectives of being high up in the air, with a mixture of vertigo and the need to capture the wonders of the skies. He shares the same space as the birds who flutter around him, and the sounds of silence. He captures it all with one click-the the breeze, the slight protrusions of buildings, and unique structures found all over the city.

In his book, “Nuestras Caras,” Francisco brings to life many of the inspiring children’s faces he saw, who were struggling to survive in the poorest neighborhoods and slums of Venezuela.
As a young adult, he shares how it is not easy to be an innocent child. On the contrary, it is ex tremely difficult. The world is going through such a heavy process of transformation that
could negatively affect so many human beings. Children are affected the most, so it is essen tial to give them appropriate and timely guidance, and serve as proper role models. He agrees
that what we give to our children will be given right back to our society.

Children are transparent people and full of sincerity. They are born without malice and with out prejudice. When they give us a smile, it is because they live and feel it completely. They do not pretend; instead, they just live and they should continue to live freely from worries that
adults have.
​
By nourishing himself with children’s contagious joy and innocence, it awakened in Francisco that young spirit that we all inherently have, and that adults usually keep dormant.
So to each child out there-he aims to share all the unique experiences he’s faced with so many of them, which is highlighted in his photo-book. He encourages the youth of today to keep let ting their joy and light shine through.
